What actually happens during an intimacy coaching session?
People come to me expecting to be uncomfortable, embarrassed and needing to change who they are to “get better”.
You don't have to have your life together to start this work. You don't have to have cleared space on your calendar or resolved the thing with your partner or gotten to a place where you feel ready. Nobody gets to a place where they feel ready. You just have to be a little curious about what's on the other side of where you are right now.
Here's what actually happens.
We start with a fit call which is 20 minutes, no pressure, nothing to prepare. You tell me what's going on and I tell you honestly whether I think I can help. If it's a yes from both of us, we book a first session.
The first session is mostly me asking questions and you talking. What feels off. What you've already tried. What you actually want, if you can get to it, and if you can't, that's fine too, we'll find it. I'm not in a hurry and I'm not going to rush you toward a goal you haven't named yet.
From there, sessions are 60 minutes, virtual, every two to four weeks depending on your pace. We talk. I reflect back what I'm hearing and connect the dots you may not have noticed in the thick of it. We figure out what's actually in the way versus what you've been told is in the way, which are usually different things. Sometimes I'll suggest something small to try before we talk again. Not a new routine or a transformation project. Just a small experiment, that you can either do or not do, either way it’s helpful!
A few things worth knowing: I'm a hands-off coach, which means I don't physically engage with clients. Sessions are talk-based. Everything is virtual, which means you can do this from your couch in your softest clothes, which honestly, me too.
You don't have to replace anything that's working. You don't have to blow up your life or your relationship or your sense of yourself to do this. Most of the women I work with are already doing a lot of things right, they're just missing something they can't quite name yet.
That's what we're looking for.
